How to Deworm with Natural Remedies

Deworming, sometimes known as worming or drenching, is the process of getting rid of intestinal parasites like worms. The most common ways to contract worms is through contaminated food or water, transmitting agents such as mosquitoes, sexual contact and even via nose and skin. Aside from conventional medications, there are many simple and easy natural treatments to deworm at home.

  1. Coconut

Coconut is a very effective home cure to expel many types of intestinal worms and acts as a very strong anti-parasitic agent. You can use both the fruit and virgin oil to deworm.

Use one tablespoon of crushed coconut for your breakfast. Three hours later, mix two teaspoons of castor oil into a glass of warm milk and drink. Repeat this process on a daily basis until the infestation disappears. However, individuals with gastrointestinal disease and children below five years old are not recommended to use castor oil.

Also, take four to six tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil every day. This oil is loaded with medium chain triglycerides that enhance the immune system in its battle against pathogens.

  1. Garlic

Garlic is known as a popular anti-parasitic food that can help get rid of any type of intestinal worms. Raw garlic is very high in the sulfur-containing amino acids that are anti-parasitic in nature. Furthermore, it has been proven useful as an antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal agent which helps kill microbes in the body. Garlic is especially useful for flushing out parasites such as giardia and roundworms.

Daily eating three cloves of raw garlic on an empty stomach for about one week is one of the most effective ways to get rid of all types of intestinal worms.

Also, two crushed garlic cloves can be boiled in one-half cup of milk and served as a drink on an empty stomach. Keep drinking for about a week.

  1. Pumpkin seeds.

Pumpkin seeds have a natural anthelmintic effect on the digestive system, meaning they can cure intestinal parasites. It contains a compound called as cucurbitacins which paralyze the worms in your body by attacking their nervous system, which prevent them from growing and make them eventually die. There are also several other worm-killing nutrients in these seeds like flavonoids, palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids.

You are recommended to eat at least 10 to 15 pumpkin seeds per day.

  1. Carom Seeds

Carom seeds is an alternative to treat intestinal worms or deworm. The carom seeds comprise of thymol component which has great ability in stopping the growth of undesired parasites in the intestine. According to Ayurveda, Carom seeds along with jaggery can bring wonderful results in curing the problem of intestinal worms.

  1. Eat a small piece or about one tablespoon of jaggery in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2. Wait for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Then eat one-quarter to one-half teaspoon of crushed carom seeds together with a glass of water.
  4. Repeat this process daily for two weeks for complete treatment of intestinal worms.

Natural treatments are very versatile and effective. Having these foods in your diet could make your body a less attractive host to the various parasites in existence.
