Fish

For your information, the food source rich in nutrients for the brain is fish. Essential fats, especially omega-3 plays an important role in the development and maintenance of brain function. It can be found in fish such as: sardine, mackerel, salmon and tuna. Hence, if you want to have a healthy brain, you should eat fish three times a week and sometimes supplement good quality fish oil.

Egg

Egg is a good source of protein, nutrients, particularly vitamin B and choline. Choline can be found in egg yolk. This substance plays an essential part in the production of the neurotransmitter in the brain that helps regulate mood, behavior and memory. It also supports alertness as well as improving cognitive performance.

Grains

Grains such as brown rice, oats and other types of grains are good foods for memory. Vitamin B1 can be found in rice, legumes, beans, sesame, peanuts. These foods increase blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain helps the brain to get adequate supply of glucose to function better.

Foods rich in Zinc

When the body lacks zinc, it will lead to memory loss. Zinc is found in meat, fish, seafood, particularly in oyster.

Green vegetables

Vitamins and minerals have the role to participate in metabolic activities and produce antioxidant of brain cells. Lack of vitamin B, especially folic acid and vitamin B12 will cause anemia, which leads to lack of oxygen to the brain. Green vegetables contain many vitamins and antioxidants. For futher information, green vegetables are also rich in folic acid which works to prevent Alzheimer’s disease risk. The types of green vegetables are broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and spinach. They are abundant in vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid. These compounds are necessary for the brain to reduce the level of homocysteine the cause of of forgetfulness phenomenon and even Alzheimer’s disease.

Fresh fruits

Fresh fruits are not only rich in vitamin but also antioxidant substances as well. Some of them are orange, tangerine, guava and grapefruit…Vitamin C found in vegetables and fruits (for example citrus fruits…) is very beneficial to the health of body and brain funtion.

Avocado

This fruit is also a rich source of  an antioxidant – vitamin E.
Many experts suggest that foods abundant in vitamin E – including avocado, which is also high in vitamin C are associated with a reduced risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Red wine

Recent research has shown that people who consume red wine with moderate amounts and other kinds of alcohol may be at lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease than those who do not drink.
