How to protect your children’s health from common diseases


As we know, the children’s resistance is normally weaker than adults and that is reason why they are often easy to have a cough or cold when the weather changes. So, what parents should do to quickly dispel the disease effectively at home.

  1. Massage

This method works most effectively for children under two years old. You mix the mustard with garlic oil and then use it to massage the children’s chest, back and neck. Also, you can apply this mixture on the soles and the toes of the baby. Remember to massage gently to avoid hurting your children.

  1. Drink enough water

When your child has a cough or sneeze, you should remember to tell her to drink enough water because drinking enough water will help the children against colds and sore throats. You can also replace the water with orange juice or warm soup to help your children have enough energy.

  1. Gargle with salt water

Mix one teaspoon of salt in the warm water and gargle for your children twice a day. This is also a good way to help them fight the cough and colds.

  1. Drink milk mixed with turmeric

Turmeric is highly antiseptic and it is also known as the “wonder drug” which can treat coughs and colds for both children and adult. What you need to do is adding a little turmeric starch in a glass of warm milk and let your children drink each night before going to bed. This can help them quickly soothe sore throats and runny nose. Additionally, milk is a rich source of calcium which provides the child with an abundant energy.

If someone in your family has a cold or having respiratory problems, steaming will be one of the effective solutions for them, especially with young children. Let your children stand in the bathroom which is full of water vapor for about 10 to 15 minutes. Besides, adding a little eucalyptus oil to the water steam can help the children feel more comfortable.

  1. Eat honey

Honey is also one of effective ways to treat colds and coughs for children. For 5-year-old children and the older, you can mix one tablespoon of honey with cinnamon powder and feed them. This method will quickly make your child feel more comfortable.
