Many people have got diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. This is partly due to age, and influenced by obesity, or smoking. One third of cancer cases can be prevented via healthy diet, physical activity and maintain your ideal weight. A new Guide from Cancer Research Fund has been launched to present some recommendations which help prevent the risk of cancer.
- Do household chores
Physical activity, even simple things such as cleaning, washing or cooking can reduce the risk of cancer, especially breast and colon cancer. Studies have shown that regular activity can help maintain healthy hormone levels in the body.
- Chew carrots
Just eat much more the needs of more than 100 calories a day can lead to an increase of 5 kg a year. Overweight, obesity is the cause contributing to 10 types of cancer including bowel, breast and liver. You do not necessarily have to give up the snack. All you need to do is to replace them with low-calorie foods. For example, you can replace fried potato by carrots. If you can not give up the habit of eating sweet, you can eat a little chocolate bar which has a calorie under 100.
- Reduce salt
Eating too much salt is not only raises blood pressure but also increases the risk of stomach cancer. According to scientists, the reason is that salt can cause gastric mucosal damage. You can use spices, herbs, garlic, lemon, black pepper, ginger … to flavor dishes without having to rely on salt.
- Being an vegetarian one day a week
Scientific evidence shows that eating red meat increases the risk of bowel cancer. Recipes such as meat and hams can bring many health effects. Carcinogens can be formed in meat during storage with chemicals, curing or salting. Choice of diet without meat one day a week or more fish on the menu offers many health benefits.
- Walking while talking on the phone

- Walking in the evening
Reducing amount of time on activities such as watching television, reading e-books to have much time on walking in the evening also helps to limit the risk of cancer.
